On November 13th, 1974 Ronald Defeo ran into a bar screaming his parents have been shot. Police returned to find Mr. and Mrs. Defeo and four out of the five Defeo children laying face down in their beds. They forensics showed that there was no signs of struggle and the bodies were not moved. Toxicology also showed no signs of being drugged. Ronald had claimed he wasn't home at the time of the murders, but when police found a gun box in his room he subsequentially confessed.
On December 18th, 1975 the Lutz family moved into the old Defeo home. Only thirteen months after the Defeo murders George and Kathleen Lutz thought the dutch colonial was a complete steal, but unaware of the horrors that would come with it. When the Lutz's had first moved in a priest came to bless the house. One of the rooms blessed was the room that belonged to Mr. and Mrs. Defeo. As the priest was blessing the room an unseen voice told him to "Get Out", which he gladly did. As he was leaving he told Mr. and Mrs. Lutz to not let anyone sleep in that room and he left. The Lutz's took his advice and made it into a sewing room. On the very first night they stayed in there they had claimed they felt "strange", but that was only the beginning of the strange occurrences. Soon they began feeling constant chills, declines in health, and a foul odor that consumed the entire house. Their daughter began staying in her room playing with her imaginary "friend" named Jodie who she described as a red-eyed pig who can transform in both size and shape. As the odor became stranger more things started to happen. Black stains started to appear in random places, an unseen force started to touch residents, and flies started appearing in the sewing room. George even says one night he awoke to see his wife turn into an old hag and levitate off the bed. The Lutz's had tried to call a priest, but everytime they tried the landline would mysteriously go out. Finally they took matters into their own hands. They grabbed crosses and went around the house saying the Lord's Prayer. This caused a response from a chorus of voices asking them to "Please stop." The final night of chaos was the worst. Reports of banging, moving furniture, and the children being terrorized was the last straw for the Lutz's. After twenty-eight days in the house the Lutz's packed up their stuff and left. Soon after they left, paranormal investigators Ed, and Lorraine Warren were called in to investigate. What the found was very startling. It turned that the land the house was built on had a lot of negative energy which was a playground for demonic spirits. The Lutz's never returned to the house. They sold all of their belongings and relocated to California. The house was sold again for $950,000 in 2010 and now the house is on the market again. Miranda Crawford Sophmore
